Thaddeus Alvord went with his parents about 1790 to Madison Co., NY andsettled near Lockport in 1811 on a farm near the County House. Heenlisted in the army in the War of 1812 and was taken from the ranks toget out timber for boats which were used by General Scott in crossing theriver into Canada. He remived to Waterford, Michigan in 1823, but on avisit to his brother Theodoticus at his old home in New York State in theYear 1828 he married his third wife. She joined the Latter Day SaintsChurch in 1833, and he was baptized by Elder Samuel Bent in Silver Lake(Pontiac), Michigan in 1834. On September 7, 1835 they started forMissouri; thence in 1839 to Nauvoo, Illisnois, and crossed the river andlocated on a farm in Lee County, Iowa; thence in Apr. 1846 to CouncilBluffs, Iowa and stopped the following winter at "Winter Quarters" (nowFlorence, Nebraska). In the spring of 1847 they went to Anders County,Mo.; thence in 1849 to Utah, arriving at Salt Lake City, October 28 wherethey located in the 19th ward; thence in 1866 to North Ogedn, Utah, wherehe died.

Left Utah 1858 and went to Mexico, and has not been heard from since.
