Either birth or death day is likely incorrect as she lived 76 years, 16 days. I have copies of all the pictures that were in her personal picture album, which I got from John Cox, her stepgrandson.
Henrietta lived in Darke County Ohio. She had no children. She married John Cox (another of my lines) and was his second wife. The person I knew from John Cox's family was Harold Wasson. One of John's daughters, his youngest Laura May, was a maid for a Mr. Wasson, and Harold was the result of their union. His grandfather, John Cox, and Henrietta Snell Cox raised him. He dearly loved that woman as a mother, but as I look back I'm just realizing that he was only 3 1/2 when she died. But he definitely remembered her and he treasured her chair which he still had in the 1970s.
Info received from Luise Snell:
PIONEER LADY IS SUMMONED HOME
--------------------
Mrs. Henrietta Cox, a life long resident
of Washington Township, Dies at her
home west of Coletown Tuesday --Was
past seventy-six years of age
---------------------(From Wednesday's Daily)
Mrs. Henrietta Cox, wife of John Cox,
and a pioneer lady of Washinton township,
died at her home one mile west of
Coletown at about 11 o'clock Tuesday
morning of a compilation of diseases
coupled with old age.Mrs. Cox, who was a most highly
respected lady, is survived by an
aged husband and several children.
She was born in Washinton township,
December 13th, 1832, and at the time
of her demise was 76 years and 16
days old.
OBITUARY----COXHenrietta Snell, daughter of John and
Margaret Snell, was born near Sharpeye
in Washington township, Darke County,
Ohio, on December 13, 1832, died Dec-
ember 29, 1908, aged 76 years and 16
days. She was married to John Cox on
April 3, 1875.She united with the Christian Church
some years ago and remained a mem-
ber until her death. As a companion and mother she was kind,
patient and indulgent; always doing her
part, until the hand of affliction seized her,
more than ten years ago, when she was
forced to retire from active duty. Her suf-
ferings which at times were intense were borne
with a marked degree of patience. When friends could go no farther and
kind hands could do more, she passed
quietly away--we hope, to that land where
there is no sickness, and no pain, and
where God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes. She leaves a husband, one brother, whose
home is in faraway Texas, and a host of
other relatives to mourn her departure.Funeral services Thursday afternoon,
standard time at the Coletown Christian
Church: Interment in Manual Cemetery.

HENRY SNELL, retired farmer, Sec 27; P.O. DArke. He was born in Hamilton Co., Ohio, Jan 14, 1812; his father John Snell, was born in Hagerstown Maryland, in 1782, and married Mary Shively, of Pennsylvania; They moved to Washington Township, Darke Co., June 4, 1817, making the first wagon track on the west side of the second branch of Greenville Creek, from south of what is now Nashville to "Sharp Eye;" the country was all wilderness, and for six months Mrs Snell never saw the face of a white woman, but Indians were numerous, and wild game of every description; deer were more plenty than sheep are to-day; the second schoolhouse had yet to be built, and for many years the first elements of education were hard to obtain. The subject of this sketch cast his first vote in Wshington Township for Andrew jackson, but every since has voted on the republican side; he began life with nothing, learned early the cooper's trade, and commenced the business on his own account in 1831; followed it about 14 years , until his health failed him, then he went to buying and selling live stock and farming; but for the last 20 years, he has rented out his farms and speculated in land and houses. He maried Mary Shively sept 11, 1836; she was born on sec 27 where they reside, aug 24, 1818; they never had any children of their own, but raised two sets, all of whom are doing well in business, and are well settled in independent circumstances; Mr. Snell owns 438 acres, with good farm houses and outbuildings.
Henry and Mary apperantly raised Jacob, Sarah Ann and Cathrin Shivley, Children of Mary's Parents after her father Daniel Died in 1841.
