Gen. Hugh Means

Hugh Means the eldest of the brothers, was born ion October 21, 1754, and died on June 11, 1825, at the age of 71. He is buried in the Faie Forest Presbyterian Church Cemetary near Jonesville, S. C. He was a Captain in the continental army during the American Revolutionary war and the title of General, inscribed on his gravestone and usually attached to his name, is possibly due to his being a General in the South Carolina Militia.
