Born 20 Feb 1826 in Owingsville (Bath County) KY, Alvin enrolled in Kentucky Volunteers at Louisville, KY in June, 1846. Served in Mexican War until 1850. Went to missouri where he met and married Sarah Ann Cantrell & started family The family moved to Texas in 1869.
