Moved to Bedford County, Tennessee between 1810 and 1820. They moved with the family of Henry's brother, Joseph Hastings. The two families may have left North Carolina when the senior Henry Hastings died in May of 1812.
After his service in the militia during the Revolutionary War he and his family moved to Bedford County, Tennessee.
