His will on record Union Court House, Union S. C. His children listed as John, dorcas, Sarah & Samuel. Two bound children Munro & Sara Ann. supposedly a Rev. soldier as he was called "Captain Edward Mayes". His will dated Septmber 14, 1838, probated Jan 4th 1839. Jno Mayes & Dorcas Mayes Executors.
