My Luke McKern was born in 1827 in Orange Co., Indiana. His parents migrated out to somewhere in Iowa. The father's name was also Luke McKern. No name for the mother. The grandfather's name is supposed to be Michael McKern who participated in the Am. Rev. War but no proof of this has been found. The younger Luke McKern took the wagon train out to the Oregon Territory in 1850, and eventually settled in Yamhill County, Oregon. He was twice married, first to Melinda Parrish who dies in 1862. Then he remarried to Mary Ann Parrott (Parrish), also a widow. I am interested in finding out more about this A. Luke McKern and his brother Abraham.
