He married Barbara Yantes in Buncombe Co. in 1818 who already had a small daughter named Lucinda. Lucinda married Valantine Thrash's grandson, John and they had a large family in Ashville, NC area.

You are correct, Anna McKern, daughter of Luke McKern and Hannah Thrash did marry Thomas McMurren, son of Alexander McMurren and Ann.
Anna or "Annie" was born Aug. 19, 1822 in Indiana and died April 5, 1900 in Fort Thomas, Graham County, Arizona. Thomas McMurren was born March 20, 1817 in Chester County, Pennsylvania and died April 4, 1896 in Fort Thomas, Graham County, Arizona.
Luke was born abt. 1770 and died Sept. 1847 in Henry County, Iowa. I have however that Hannah Thrash was born abt. 1805 in North Carolina? with a question mark. She was the daughter of Valentine Thrash and ?
